Poke'mon: Trainers of the future

Part 5: Surprise

“Welcome to the Poke'center!” said Nurse Joy. “May I help you?” “Please,” answered Umi, “heal our Poke'mon.”

“Sure, I'll have them healed in a jiffy.” Nurse Joy quickly healed the trio's Poke'mon and then gave them back . “Here you go!”

she said cheerfully. Umi smiled and said “Thank you nurse.” She decided to call her parents and walked over to the phones with

Flint and Makoto behind her.

The phone rang. Misty popped up on the screen. “Hello?” “It's me, Umi!” “Oh, Umi!! Ash hurry and get over here,

Umi's on the phone!!! How are you Umi?” “I'm fine mom, what about you?” “I'm fine and so is your father. Where are you right

now?” “I'm in Cerulean City with Flint and our friend Makoto. Say hello guys!” “Hi!” said Flint and Makoto in unison as they

waved. Misty waved back. “That's wonderful!” Just then Ash appeared on the screen. “Hey, honey!” he said. “How's daddy's

little girl doing?” “I'm fine replied Umi. “Guess what?” “What?” “I caught a Poke'mon that's never been seen before!!” “Really!!!

What is it?” “I think it's called Usokky.” “Show it to us!”

Umi reached for her poke'ball. “Usokky come on out!” “Usokky?” asked the Poke'mon. “Usokky?” It looked at the

screen to see Ash and Misty. “Here it is!” exclaimed Umi. “Usokky!” “That's quite a discovery,” replied Misty. “Hey, Gary

come over here. You must see this new Poke'mon.”

Gary walked over to see. “Hey!!! That's Usokky!!” he said. “A very rare specimen indeed!” “Do you know anything

about it Professor Gary?” asked Umi. “I just caught it...yesterday I think.” “To tell you the truth I don't. All I know is its name is

Usokky. I was doing some research and one crossed my path. The Poke'mon didn't seem to notice me, and I didn't want to

alarm it of my presence, so I took a picture of it so I could remember it. After that I was going to capture it, but it ran away and I

couldn't find it. You're very lucky to have one.” “Yep, it helped me win a badge today.” Umi took out her badge. “We're so

proud of you!” exclaimed Ash and Misty in unison. “Well, it's been wonderful talking to you dear,” said Misty, “but I have a lot

of house cleaning to do. We hope to hear from you again soon.” “I hope to talk to you again soon too, mom.” “Take care of

yourself,” said Ash. “We love you,” said Ash and Misty in unison. “Goodbye.” “Good-bye,” said Umi. She hung up the phone.

“Well, I guess we're headed to Vermilion now,” said Flint. “Let's get going.” The trio left the Poke'center and continued

on their way. “Today sure is a lovely day,” said Umi. “I agree,” said Makoto. “I've never seen the sky so blue.” “Ah, the breeze

and the warm sun are great.” Umi thought for a moment. *Everything is so perfect right now. The sky, the wind, the sun. I have

my best friends with me. I hope it never ends. They're so nice. Flint...he got hurt trying to save me. Makoto...he risked his life to

save the both of us. I sure do have wonderful friends. People like these two are very hard to find. Hmm...I wonder how Flint

thinks of me. Oh, well...*

“Hey, Earth to Umi. Is anyone there?” asked Flint waving his hands in front of her face. “Umi? Umi!” She shook her

head. “Wha, what?” she asked. “Oh, I'm sorry. I was just caught up in something. What is it?” “We're going to get something to

eat.” “Cool, I'm starved. I'll pay.” “No, I'll do that.” “But...” “It's okay, don't worry.” “I guess...if you insist...”

“That was great!” said Makoto. “You know what? I'm tired of walking. Why don't we just teleport over to Vermilion?”

He snapped his fingers. In an instant they were teleported to Vermilion. “I was enjoying my walk!” Umi angrily said. “You had to

ruin it!” “Sorry 'bout that,” apologized Makoto. “Next time we'll walk.” “Whatever. Now that we're here let's get to the gym.” “I

think the gym leader here uses Electric type Poke'mon,” said Flint. They walked towards the gym.

“I'm Yagashi, the leader of this gym.” said the gym leader. He pointed at Umi and Flint. “You two wish to challenge

me?” “Yes,” they answered in unison. “Uh....” “I know the whole thing already, so let's just get to it. Raichu, Pikachu go!!” Umi

called out her Poke'mon: “Pikachu go!!” Flint called out his Poke'mon: “Onyx go!!” “Raichu, Pikachu, body slam and

thunderbolt!” commanded Yagashi. Umi commanded her Poke'mon. “Pikachu agility!!” Pikachu ran around Raichu in circles.

“Onyx, rock throw!!” commanded Flint. Makoto cheered his friends on. “You can do it!!!” “Get ready Pikachu,” said Umi.

“Now, thunderbolt!!” Pikachu charged up and unleashed its greatest thunderbolt. “PPIIIIIIIKAAAACHUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!” said

the little rodent as he fried Raichu.

“Raichu, return!” called back the gym leader. “Pikachu quick attack!” Pikachu ran up to attack Onyx, but hurt itself by

doing so. “Shute, I forgot.” “Onyx body slam!” commanded Flint. “Onyx (Yeah!)” yelled the snake-like Poke'mon as it slammed

its body on the small Pikachu. The Pikachu cried small tears. “Pika pi (Ow, that hurts!)” it said. Yagashi called it back. He

handed Flint and Umi a thunder badge each. They high-fived each other and then shook hands with Yagashi. “Thank you,” they

said. Makoto joined them again. As they left the gym he asked “So, now what do we do?” “I think we need to rest now,”

suggested Flint. “I'm so tired.” “I agree,” said Umi. “Traveling and battling sure does make you tired. *Maybe I'll do a little

writing before I rest*

Dear Diary,

Umi here!^_^ Today is great so far. Flint and I battled two gym leaders, and now we have the Thunder badge and the

Cascade badge. Cool or what? Us three: Makoto, Flint, and me, we've been through a lot together. Makoto's always

there to cheer us on at the gym matches and he's very helpful. Flint's always there to make me feel better, and he's

always...there for me when I need him. I think I'm in love with him! I don't know...but I feel like we were brought

together by fate. Well, I'm going to catch a few Z's now. Bye!

Umi drifted into a peaceful slumber. Flint soon followed. Umi began to dream. She was wearing a beautiful light blue dress. Her

hair fell over her shoulders. She wore a beautiful pearl necklace. She was looking at the stars. “Those stars,” she said, “look

like...Flint.” Just then a shooting star shot across the sky. *I wish...I wish Flint was here. A young man walked up to Umi and

covered her eyes from behind. “Guess who?” he asked. He took his hands away from her eyes. She turned around and

embraced him. “Flint! Oh, how I missed you!!” “I missed you too.” They slowly leaned in for a kiss.

Just then Makoto came. “Hey, how's it going my friends?” “Makoto,” said Flint, “it's so nice to see you again. We're

fine. How did the trip go?” “It went well. It was so beautiful, you should've seen the landscape.” Just then the palace started to

collapse. “Huh, what's going on?” asked Umi. “We must be under attack!” Makoto ran into the castle. “Where are you going?”

asked Umi. “I'm going to get everyone out of the castle!” he replied. He lead everyone out. He went back to make sure

everyone was out. He saw a little girl run and then trip on the floor. He quickly picked her up and ran out of the castle. He

returned the little girl safely to her mother. “Listen everyone,” he said, “We must summon the legendary Poke'mon.” Everyone

formed a circle and joined hands. “Legendary Poke'mon, the time has come to awaken!!!” they all said in unison. The statues of

Poke'mon around the castle came to life and started attacking the evil forces.

Makoto then used his magic to put everyone to sleep and surrounded them in Aurora-beam crystals. They were sent to

live their lives on earth. The legendary Poke'mon conquered the evil. One of them, an Arcanine, came up to Makoto and said “If

you ever need us again you'll know what to do.” They went back to their pillars and fell back to sleep.

Umi and Flint woke up and looked at each other. “I had the strangest dream,” They said in unison, blushing. Makoto

stood up. “That was my doing.” “What?!” “There's something I have to tell you about your past. A long time ago we lived on the

planet Aurora. Umi was the princess and her mother Misty was the queen. Ash was the king. Flint was a really good friend of

the princess and had become her lover. One day we were under attack by Team Rocket, so we summoned the legendary

Poke'mon. They battled Team Rocket for us. I knew our palace would be destroyed, so I sent everyone to live their futures on

earth. I had erased everyone's minds though, I wanted all of you to be happy. The legendary Poke'mon won, but the only things

that remained standing on our planet were the five pillars that the legendary Poke'mon would sleep upon. I came to Earth too, to

watch over our kind. So far there's been no destruction here. Let's hope it stays that way.”

“So, that dream,” began Umi, “is what happened in the past?” “Yes,” was Makoto's reply. “I'm over 600 years old.”

“You are??!!! You don't look a day older than 14!” “Believe it. Anyway, all three of us have learned Poke'mon techniques. Only

those that lived on Aurora are able to learn them.” “So that means....” “Yes, Anne use to live on Aurora. She use to be a very

kind person, but Team Rocket persuaded her to join their evil forces.” “I feel kind of sorry for her.” “She's still alive. You may

have thought you'd gotten rid of her for good, but she didn't die. I can feel it. She's temporarily hurt though.”

“Really, that dream was our past life?” “Yes.” “I'm a princess and...” *That means Flint and I are....so, we really are destined to

be together!*
