SLEEPLESS NIGHT
To note, This takes place after the pokemon journey. Ash and Misty live together with ash's mom
as a family. His mom is in Viridian at a pokemon convention for parents. Most of this is non-
verbal and mostly thought. The first begins on Monday, the second night is about friday. This is
my second story.
Sleepless Night
That night Ash slept alone in his room. The moon shone in through the bedroom window. The
wireless phone which he left on the nightstand was catching the light, he used the phone
whenever his mom called. The trees swayed softly as the wind blew them. the cool breeze flooded
in through the open window.
The night was soft, the sky was clear, Ash could see all the stars that night. however, only
one thing was on his mind, it was Misty. Ever since they reached home Ash couldn't stop thinking
of her, of her wonderful face, her glistening eyes, and her warm look. Ash always thought of her
as an angel, sent to him to be with him. Yet, he knew that she was more than that, she was
human. He continued to hide it for sometime now. Holding it all in began to choke him, he barely
talked to her. He was to afraid to. The feeling inside him though was incredible. Every night he
thought of being close to her, hearing every breath, every beat of her heart, everything about
her. He never slept, well until midnight, but this night was different he felt so much stranger,
so much closer to her.
Ash couldn't help it he loved her so much, he had a picture of her and Brock. When they had
to leave they gave each other pictures. He always stared at that picture, at the girl in the
white dress smiling with all her beauty. He wished that they would never leave each other. The
one thing he feared the most was the thought of her being taken away from him, he never wanted
to leave her for anything in the world. He even dreamt that she had died and left him. He scared
himself to death of what might happen if she left him. He stopped this thought, it was freaking
him out and he needed to sleep, he needed to snap out of it, breathe, and sleep. The time was
killing him, he finally dozed off.
Misty was sleeping in one of the two guest rooms. She decided that she'll have the room next
to Ash's. She slept with her nightly, soft, and romantic music. This kept her close to Ash.
Whenever her favorite and slowest song was played she always thought deeply that Ash was right
next to her. She also thought of him much, but she never shook the thought of losing him, as did
Ash. She could imagine Ash right beside her then dissappearing into the air.
She sometimes thought that Ash took no intrest in her because he did not like her hair, she
put it down and still, no response from him. Maybe it was he outer image, she liked the way she
was, made all petite. Maybe he did not find her attractive in anyway at all. She shuddered at
this, but she knew that somehow she had to make Ash notice her. For the past two months they've
been home she asked Ash's mom of tips on guys, but his mom couldn't help either. She barely knew
anything about them, and as a surprise to Misty, his mom took it lightly. Almost like it never
even hit her. Misty tried so much to try, but all she could do was watch, watch her life go by
like floating cloud.
She felt cold and lonely. She knew it wasn't the window; the blanket wouldn't help either. A
tear of lonliness escaped her eye. She had to leave her room, which felt like cess pool in the
north pole, and talk to Ash.
She creeped down the dark hallway, silently she opened his door, Ash turned, another tear
escaped her eye, Ash got up and stood in front of her. Then, Misty burst into tears and clung
onto Ash crying into his left shoulder. He led her to the bed to lie down. She stopped for a
moment and looked into his eyes looking deep into past what was the blur of her tears. Ash
looked straight back at her she turned away. Ash turned her chin to face her, Misty knowing that
this is what she wanted so much, this is what she wanted to feel, everything in the world would
not spoil this moment, Ash knew that too. All the money in the universe would never end this
nothing would ever stop it. Their eyes met, they got closer and closer then.. Ring... the phone
rang. Ash had a feeling of dissappointment in his heart, as did Misty. Ash's mom was on the
other end. "Yeah mom," he answered. "you'll be staying there until Sunday instead?" he
questioned. "they have a meeting on parents of young trainers, okay then, bye." His eyes again
turned to Misty, gazing into her beautiful eyes. Looking deep within her blue color. Misty
closed her eyes as they got closer and closer, then... it came. The feeling of love, the feeling
the two wanted so much. The one that was most important to them was the feeling of a first kiss.
The one that let everything out of a person the held together on the soft bed kissing
passionately. This time not even the phone would ruin this moment. Ash's radio played that song
Misty loved so much, "Ash, that's my favorite song," she sputtered,"this one, God Must Have
Spent?" he answered as if she questioned him."Yes, you are an angel, aren't you?" she asked
shyly. He answered back very softly "I always thought you were." As Misty turned around to lie
facing the same direction in which Ash was, she felt strange but warm, Ash hugged her close,
more tears left Misty and onto the pillow.
He embraced her held her in his arms feeling her breathing through the rising of her chest.
Misty felt renewed in all ways. Now knew that Ash did care, to her this was a dream come true.
She loved ever minute of the feeling. So did Ash.
The next few nights went very nice. Every night she came over into his room. They slepy side
by side in the coolness of the night. But, that next night was very different. Why did Ash like
her? This question just hit her this night. After four nights she started to wonder, did he
intentionally avoid me or is he hiding something? She had to know. She asked him that night in
bed, "Ash, Why did you avoid me for these past few weeks? Why only now you tell me that you love
me and why not earlier?" Ash wasn't ready for that question but he had to tell her. "Misty, I
didn't tell you because I didn't think you would listen." He continued as he interrupted Misty's
train of thought, " If I told you I always thought you wouldn't care or you would reject me or
even end or relationship, I didn't want to do that I love you too much to end our friendship.
That's why I didn't say anything." Misty looked at herself in self pity and in distrust. Ash
spoke up, "I figured you wouldn't trust me that I truly loved you because I said nothing, but
always know that whatever happens I'll be right here and you can always trust me and know that I
care for only you." Misty smiled as a tear of happiness left her she could only respond by
looking at him and moving her lips to say 'I love you too' without any sound. Ash kissed her as
the moon shown brightly through the bedroom window. The song played softly. As the two lovers
left each others embrace, dazed but happy, Misty turned to curl up next to him. Ash held her in
his arms kissing her neck and the two went to sleep in each others arms.
By Sunday night when Mrs. Ketchum came back to her son and his friend. She knew that
something special happened that week. Ash and his friends all went out to a party, Misty stayed
and filled in all the deatils to the mother, she smiled through every bit of it. Misty smiled
with great pleasure as she was permitted to continue to be with someone which she loved. The
mother was finally proud of her son for getting such a fine young girl. Ash and Misty continued
to stay together until the inevitable, the first date, but that's a different story.

Notes: This is my second fan fic. I kinda edged in some intense scenes. I thought it was quite
romantic though. I hoped you all liked it.
